The Colleges of Oxford University have introduced a History Aptitude Test (HAT) for use in the selection of candidates for all degree courses involving History. This test, which aims to examine the skills and potentialities required for the study of History at university, provides an objective basis for comparing candidates from different backgrounds, including mature applicants and those from different countries.
A programme of individual tutorials can be arranged to help students to focus on what the HAT examiners are looking for by critically reviewing their responses to past paper questions. Suggestions for further reading will be given where appropriate.
To apply, please complete the Supplementary Tuition Registration Form.
